Rheinmetall Electronics GmbH (RME)

RME, with its Bremen-based simulation and training business, is one of Europe's largest providers in the design, development and production of advanced training solutions. At the same time, RME specializes in developing and implementing holistic training concepts for all training requirements in the Army, Navy and Air Force domains. To this end, RME offers mission oriented and state-of-the-art training tools and concepts for all military branches to guarantee the highest level of training and learning efficiency. In addition to classic simulator training, RME focuses on joint and combined operations, tactical leader training, pilot training, technical training with the ASTERION training system as well as live training.

Flight simulation
Rheinmetall’s flight simulation division is partner in the multinational training programmes for the Tiger, NH90, A400M and KC390 platforms and guarantees competence and innovation in the field of training for Air Force, Army Aviation as well as civilian users. The product portfolio ranges from mobile tablet-based solutions for basic training through replicated systems for procedure training up to complex full-mission simulators.

Tactical leadership training
Looking at current military deployment profiles, it is obvious that most of them are joint and combined missions that require the highest levels of interoperability and communication skills. In particular, the mission coordination of such deployments requires a maximum of leadership skills. This leads to new requirements for future training systems. For this purpose, RME has developed a mobile tactical training system that is not limited to crew-coordination training and enables the tactical mission preparation of complete deployment contingents in a networked scenario. Thanks to its technologically advanced design, the modular concept allows complex tactical training scenarios with a network of various weapon platform simulators of any military branch.

Conclusion
No virtual reality is as hard as real life. But nevertheless simulators are indispensable in modern military and civil training. They are available around the clock and independent from weather conditions while offering extremely flexible training options. Training systems from Rheinmetall have been contributing to this for more than 40 years and facilitate training for applications on land, by sea, and in the air.
